Barangay Dahican, Mati City, Davao Oriental is a three hour drive away from Davao City. Roads are paved, don’t worry. Best to visit this fabulous place on April where they hold an annual skimboarding competition.
The 7km of pure white sand coastline is beautiful…the beach is facing the Pacific, thus, its great waves are perfect for the beach bum looking for an adventure. It’s glorious day to laze around the beach. But if you are the type that doesn’t want to camp out in a tent and is used to room service, Dahican may not be for you. This is a backpacker’s place. It is not yet developed and no hotels to accommodate the luxury you are accustomed to.
But what the heck, that’s what makes it fun. You get up in the morning, grill your bbq, and run to the beach, do a bonfire at nigh —->just don’t set your tents on fire.
There are little stalls where you can buy cheap food as well, if you risk poisoning your group because you are a hopeless cook.
Surfing is definitely a must if you pass by Dahican Beach. Everyone there seems to be carrying a board of sort. From the beautifully polished to the crude ones.
skim boarding mania in mati!
Glorious day to get a tan!!! and look at the sand…it’s soooo fine!
breathtaking, isn’t it?
