When flying to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the underground river in Sabang is one of the famous places to visit. The cave is known for its complex system of limestone karst landscapes, formed through limestone erosions. In 2012, the Underground Cave was officially inducted as one of the new seven wonders of nature.
You cannot explore the cave on foot. You will ride the boat and, more often than not, the boat is wet. So it is better to avoid wearing jeans or any clothing that will get heavy with water. The trip is on a shared boat that carries about 8 people max. The cruise is 1.5km long. The tour fee starts at Php 2,500 (45usd).
Cave entrance has shallow water
Limestones inside the cave.
Keep your hands to yourselves — the tour has an absolute “NO TOUCH POLICY” to protect the limestones and preserve the cave.
The tour package includes pick up and drop off (within Puerto Princesa city center), tour guide, boat transfer (you need to ride a motorized boat from Sabang Wharf to reach the underground river), lunch, zipline (optional), and an environmental fee of Php150 (3usd).
You can also embark on a trail.
We met sunbathing lizards and monkeys.
Pristine waters + fine white sand.
A quick pic outside with cave with my friends, Angel and Raul.
